Tretinoin Review

tretinoin-review

I have been dealing with acne for an extremely long time and anyone who suffers with it knows how annoying and problematic it can be. I finally got fed up and went to the doctor to get a treatment that would rid me of my acne.

After stepping into the doctor’s office, we had a brief consultation and then prescribed to me Retin-A (Tretinoin). I started applying the cream immediately and I did not see any major results immediately. Over a period of a few weeks, my face began to clear up. It actually worked pretty well and my face looks good and I am not bothered by the stupid acne no more.

Despite Tretinoin working, there are some pros and cons. Obviously the pros are that it clears the skin extremely well. It was able to improve the look of the face when breakouts would still occur. My doctor stated that was great at getting rid of whiteheads, blackheads and cystic acne. It is really good for people who suffer from severe acne.

The cons of this product are the fact that dries out the skin really bad. I constantly had to apply moisturizer on my face, based on how dry it would get. Aside from drying, my skin would peel and I did not like this at all. It also has a bleaching effect and my shirts and pillow cases would all have this bleached out look from using the tretinoin on my face.

In the end I guess it was worth it. My face looks clear and I really am not worried about acne anymore. The dryness, bleaching and skin peeling was annoying but I eventually got over it as I wanted my acne gone. In fact, it wasn’t that bad when I think about.
